On Episode 12 of the Nebraska Wedding Podcast, Kelly talks to Bridget Broders of Blue Water Destinations. Bridget is a travel agent who helps couples put together amazing honeymoons and dream destination weddings. As someone who’s never used a travel agent, Kelly digs in to the pros and cons of using a travel agent, and is really surprised by what she learns!

Bridget started Blue Water Destinations (3:00) about three years ago after having a destination wedding of her own. With her company, Bridget hoped to provide a service she simply wasn’t finding in the area. Her company takes care of all the details – such as checking out the resort before guests arrive, and providing everything the bride and family may need to make the trip, and day of, as smooth as possible at no extra cost (4:15) – truly making destination weddings a stress-free experience.

Blue Water Destinations offers wedding packages in Mexico, the Caribbean, the Bahamas, or even right ON a cruise ship. The choices are endless and truly customizable to fit your idea of a dream wedding. Bridget discusses the benefits of traveling as a group, and awesome kickbacks from all inclusive resorts. In fact, if you get enough people coming with you, the wedding itself could be free! (crazy cool, huh?) (9:00)

Bridget also discusses one of the huge benefits of a destination wedding: a lot of the work is done for you. (9:20) While many brides say they hardly remember the day of their wedding, with a destination wedding everything is taken care of – so you can sit back and truly enjoy the day.  “We sipped champagne, we took photos, we had the wedding… and then we all got to have a lot of fun.”

 It sounds dreamy, doesn’t it?

Bridget talks through how she personally decided on a destination wedding, (10:15) and her reasoning may really resonate with a number of you.

You can learn more about Blue Water Destinations on their website, or Facebook page.

PS Kelly has a request of you all! She’s making shirts (YES! Everyone loves a good t-shirt) for both engaged couples and wedding professionals. Stop by her Instagram @laceworkfilms and let her know what you think!
