Their Story

In the suburbs of Chicago, Alex and Dominick’s love story unfolded building their relationship and friendship along the way. They met on a dating app and then got engaged in October 2022 at home with their sweet pup Rae “Cray Rae” in attendance.

The Wedding

At the beginning of wedding planning, Alex and Dominick were planning a large wedding for May 2024 in Milwaukee, WI. When they took a step back and really looked at what they wanted, they decided to move their timeline up one year and have a small wedding with family only. They chose to exchange vows at Hotel Arista in Naperville, IL and celebrate their union at the stunning Santo Cielo. Hotel Arista’s rooftop balcony provided the perfect setting for their intimate ceremony, while Santo Cielo‘s panoramic views and contemporary ambiance elevated their reception to new heights.

They infused their personalities into every facet of their special day. Portraits with Rae captured their shared love for their fur love, while heartfelt personal vows underscored their unwavering commitment. A simple moment shared over a Miller Lite after their first look really showed their down-to-earth nature and genuine connection.

The color palette of yellows, pinks and greens mirrored the vibrant spirit of spring and complemented the guest’s colorful cocktail attire. Laughter and sarcastic quips (along with a few tears) filled the air as a small number of family members gathered to celebrate their union.

Unique details added depth to the celebration. These touches included a ring warming ceremony and handwritten letters to each guest, expressing gratitude and affection. They decided to host an intimate ceremony and reception for family, followed by an after-party for friends. This fulfilled their desire for an authentic and memorable experience. It was wonderful that they had a wedding videographer to capture all the words said all day!
